I can't answer this questions for so many time ( as different juniors are asking the same question ) so I post it on the blog. I am a JPA IPTA scholarship holder and I would like to share this info as this scholarship is still new to all of the Malaysia students. If not mistaken, this scholarship has been introduced since my batch, 2008 SPM students.
At that time, I mean the time the results came out, there are different status the students can get, it's either Berjaya, Berjaya IPTS or Berjaya IPTA. My status was Berjaya IPTA, they gave me the offer to study in either matriculation or asasi ( but I was in Matric so definitely, I gonna stay ). For those already in matriculation programme, you gonna stay in your matric college to finish your programme, only can enter local university, we won't be offered to study Asasi, which is considered as foundation.
In terms of allowance, we are getting the same allowance as those matric students who don't get that scholarship, the only difference is that your money is given by JPA not Matriculation. So, in other words, you are only officially considered as JPA scholarship holder after entering university.
The only advantage we gain is that you need not to sail through second interview to get the scholarship when you are in university. Once you get the offer of the course you wanna study in university, you have to inform your counsellors or JPA people in charge.
If you still have any questions, you may ask when the JPA people come to your college. I think the JPA will arrange some officers to come to give some briefing as my batch did have it. So, don't be so worried, just focus on your study. And for those who didn't get this offer, don't be frustrated, you can apply it after entering university.
In short, just focus on study and enjoy your life in the college. =)

Hey, thanks for posting this up. Good to know that there might be jpa officers coming to brief us on stuff concerning it. Btw, KMS didnt appear in the field of option. Gonna call up jpa soon.
diingshenq: erm, the advantage is you can reject it later after you enter the uni life because you need not pay back. and maybe it helps in applying the course you want *this is a secret la.. but it is not anymore after i post this comment.. what la, bf.. == continue to be a blogger ba, sometimes it's good for sharing.
TSl: what's mean that KMS didnt appear in the field of option?
The problem's solved now. Cuz before this KMS wasnt in the list for us to choose where we're studying now.
Once you get the offer of the course you wanna study in university, you have to inform your counsellors or JPA people in charge <-- may i know how? call them? through web? email them? or send document to jabatan? thank you
Inform JPA. They will send a letter to you to inform you the next steps...
